I am a freelance photojournalist in San Antonio, Texas covering local high school sporting events. I got my start in sports photography for Helotes Echo in 2016-2018. I transitioned to OK3Sports in 2018 where I submit pictures and sports articles. I have also contributed events to VYPE Magazine and Alamo Ranch Highlights.
I studied photography in high school where I learned the art of proper light exposure, composition, depth of field, and post processing by developing film and prints in a photo lab darkroom. I was also on the yearbook staff.
Since the advancement of digital photography, film and chemicals have been replaced with memory cards and Lightroom. Still the foundations of capturing images are the same.
All pictures in these galleries have been captured and individually edited using Lightroom to bring out the best exposures, awesome colors, great contrast, and compelling composition to tell a story and preserve a memory,
My digital workflow includes Canon equipment. The EOS 7D Mark II and EOS 5D Mark IV are my primary camera bodies which provide great images at higher ISO settings.
Using a high quality lens is critical to capture amazing images particularly at night time sporting events or indoor gyms. Sports like football, baseball, basketball, softball, soccer, and swim all require wide aperture f2.8 glass or wider.
My lens arrangement includes the EF 24-70 f2.8, EF 70-200mm f2.8, and a prime 300mm f2.8 to provide great coverage at all events.
Please contact me via email if you would like to make arrangements for me to focus on covering your athlete at their event for a pre-paid fee.
